Juzing is the data controller responsible for your personal data. For questions about data processing, contact us at privacy@juzing.app.
We collect the following personal data: • Account data: email address, username, and password (stored as a secure hash) • Profile data: selected dialect preferences • Voice recordings: audio files you record and submit • Activity data: your votes on recordings and timestamps • Technical data: device type, app version, and error logs Voice recordings are not used for biometric identification. They are used solely for dialect preservation and education.
We process your data based on: • Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): for voice recordings and their public sharing • Contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): for account creation and service provision • Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): for platform security and improvement
Your data is processed to: • Provide the dialect preservation and education service • Allow you to record, share, and manage voice recordings • Enable community features (listening, voting) • Manage your account and preferences • Improve the app and ensure security
Your voice recordings and username are shared publicly with other users as part of the core service. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We use Supabase for data storage and Resend for email delivery, both of which act as data processors under GDPR.
• Account data: retained until you delete your account • Voice recordings: retained until you delete them or your account • Unverified accounts: automatically deleted after 72 hours • Vote data: retained until you delete your account • Password reset tokens: expire after 1 hour
Under the GDPR, you have the right to: • Access your personal data (Article 15) • Rectify inaccurate data (Article 16) • Erase your data — 'right to be forgotten' (Article 17) • Restrict processing (Article 18) • Data portability (Article 20) • Object to processing (Article 21) • Withdraw consent at any time (Article 7(3)) You can delete your recordings from your profile and revoke recording consent in Settings > Privacy. We protect your data with: • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) • Securely hashed passwords (bcrypt) • Secure token-based authentication • Access controls and rate limiting
Your data may be processed outside the EU/EEA by our service providers (Supabase, Resend). These transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission.
Juzing is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. The latest version will always be available in the app settings.
